WOW! It is so hot here!! 112 degrees at 7:00 p.m.! A great night to sit inside and make a quilled card - which is exactly what I am getting ready to do!
But first, I wanted to post a quilled butterfly that I made a while back. It is different because I used different colors of paper and rolled them back to back to make different colored wings.
.
Of course, I think it is pretty! What do you think?
P.S. Sorry it is blurry - it is NOT your eyes - it is my shitty I-Phone! Thanks AT&T

Flowers
Happy Quilling Day! Today I am showing off my favorite quilling item: Flowers!! I don't know why I am so crazy about flowers...but I am. Maybe because my sister Robin has owned a lovely flower shop in Topeka Kansas for years and on all occasions she and her husband, Craig, send me gorgeous flowers. Or maybe just because they are always so cheerful. I don't think I need a reason to love flowers. You will probably see that most of my quilled greeting cards will center around flowers.
This greeting card is a little bit different than normal. I used different types of paper that have great patterns. I actually cut the paper myself - which was a true challenge to me since I am left handed and am not that precise with scissors. But I think this card is really pretty and I will probably use patterned paper more often in the future.
So what do you think? Here is a picture of the card:
So you can see the different patterns of paper, I took a picture of the side of the card:
Finally, I took a picture of the big flower so you could see the detail and rhinestone. This is a really fun flower to make.
Have a great rest of your Sunday. Please follow me and make comments!

Happy Saturday!
I love waking up to the blue skies in Lake Havasu. Since Nick and I moved here in March, I think we have only had three mornings where we didn't have completely blue skies when we woke up. It is so very different than the 26 years that I spent in Overland Park, Kansas! It was always a gamble there whether it was going to be an ugly sky, and there were always clouds.....
But here in Havasu? Beautiful every morning....so is our pool!!
The weather here today is going to be about 109 degrees so it will be a great day to spend in the water. The temperature in the pool is around 89 degrees which is actually a little cool.
So tomorrow I will be posting another quilled card that I am making. Have a great day and try to stay cool!

Happy Friday!
Happy Friday!
Welcome!
Welcome to Mohave Quilling! This is my first blog so bear with me while I figure all of this out! I started quilling greeting cards recently and am having so much fun with this craft that I thought you might enjoy it as well!
So what is quilling? Quilling, also known as paper filigree, is the art of rolling thin strips of paper into different shapes and using the shapes to form designs. Quilling has been around since the Renaissance age.
I have been making greeting cards for several years and have gotten a bit bored with them. I saw an article in Oprah Magazine lately about Quilling and that was all it took. I ordered a starter kit from Quilled Creations and it has become my new hobby.
So anyway, Welcome to my blog on quilling. I plan to show you some pictures of my quilled greeting cards and we will see where I go from here!
Thanks for stopping by!
